Holders of this Undergraduate Degree are not qualified Architects. Free professional practice is supervised by the Architects Associations.

The Undergraduate Degree in Principles of Architecture and the Master's Degree in Architecture replace the old Undergraduate Degree in Architecture and grant holders the exact same skills and abilities.

Together, their Curricula are the result of adapting the old Spanish Undergraduate Degrees to the European Higher Education Area (Bologna process) on the grounds of the 2010 Undergraduate Degree study plan, to be successively phased out.

Holders of the Undergraduate Degree in Principles of Architecture may access the Master's Degree in Architecture, and therefore obtain the official qualification as an Architect.

The Undergraduate Degree in Principles of Architecture is made up of 300 ECTS (including the Final Year Project, 6 credits), divided into five years. Completion of the degree is an entry requirement for the one-year Master's Degree in Architecture that enables students to work as Architects, which is made up of 60 ECTS (30 of which are devoted to the Final Project). A space for each student of the Undergraduate Degree in Principles of Architecture is booked at the Master's Deegree in Architecture, managed by UA's Polytechnic University College.

  • Implementation

An implementation system has been proposed so that new students can start their studies in academic year 2014-2015, while at the same time students from the 2010 Undergraduate Degree in Architecture can adapt to the new plan in order to access the Master's Degree in Architecture in academic year 2015-2016.

The curricula of the old Undergraduate Degree in Architecture and the new Undergraduate Degree in Principles of Architecture are clearly parallel. The aim of the new Degree is to allow UA students to complete their training in Architecture with a Master's Degree, thus obtaining a standardised title that will allow them to work as architects in Europe and in the rest of the world.

Students who have already started studying the old Undergraduate Degree in Architecture will have the opportunity to finish their studies while the Degree is progressively being phased out, according to the university's Academic Organisation rules.

The Undergraduate Degree Information Report, together with Safety Monitoring & Improving Reports and Surveys will be publically available at the Internal Quality Assurance System website.
