Are there differences between the ARA group and the Spanish group or the Valencian group?
No. The only difference is that the vehicular language of most classes is English.
How many vacant places are in the ARA group?
There are only 25 places per course.
Are there any requirements to access the ARA group?
No. But the students belonging to the ARA group have to obtain level B2 at the end of the first academic year.
What if I start and see that I can't follow classes in English?
There is the possibility of switching to the group in Spanish at any time (and for any reason).
However, in last years there have been very few withdrawals. First grade teachers are aware of the difficulty of receiving classes in English and adapt their classes progressively to the language.
If I don't understand something, can I ask questions in Spanish?
Of course. Teachers will use Spanish if they consider it convenient in any circumstance
Are the exams only in English?
Exams can be taken in both English and Spanish.
Are there any requirements to continue belonging to the ARA group once enrolled?
Yes, you must approve 60% of the credits enrolled to continue belonging to the ARA group the following year.
Advantages and / or disadvantages of belonging to the ARA group
What advantages does belonging to the ARA group have?
Membership in the ARA group has several advantages, which come mainly from being a small group and teaching in English:
1 - Compact schedule. Since there are few students, almost no subject has to do different groups for laboratories, so the schedule is much simpler and there are no dead hours.
2 - Personalized attention. Again, being a few students it is much easier for the teacher to track each student.
3 - Free English classes. To improve the assimilation of the contents of the degree classes, the university provides free English classes (up to level B2) for the students of the ARA group.
4 - Preference in the awarding of Erasmus scholarships. One of the requirements to obtain Erasmus scholarships is to accredit a high level of English, belonging to the ARA group this is understood.
What disadvantages does belonging to the ARA group have?
It depends on how you want to interpret, but you could say that it could have the following disadvantages:
1 - English level. At the end of the degree, the student must prove that they have level B2 in English. In the Spanish group it is only required to accredit a B1 level in English (or in some other foreign language). However, level B2 should have already been obtained in 2nd year with free English classes.
2 - Personalized attention. Being few students it is much harder to go unnoticed.
Enrollment process in the ARA group

Only during the first, second and third year course.
How do I enroll in the ARA group?
Registration must be made at the express request of the student, you can make your request through the following links:
Keep in mind that the previous links will only work during the enrollment period.
I have already enrolled in the Spanish group or in the Valencian group and I just saw that the ARA group exists, can I change?
Yes, it is possible, provided there are vacancies. Try to do it with the previous links and if you have any problem send an email to the management team of the degree (subdirectora.informaticaeps.ua.es) indicating your data (full name and ID) and that you request to change to the ARA group first or second course.
The enrollment program does not allow me to enroll in the ARA group
It is normal, the enrollment in the ARA group is done in two stages since the program cannot verify if you meet the requirements. Therefore, you must first enroll in one of the groups in Spanish or Valencian (no matter what time you choose), and then you must request enrollment in the ARA group through the following link:
If you try to register and have problems send an email to the management team of the degree (subdirectora.informaticaeps.ua.es) indicating your data (full name and ID) and that you request to register with the ARA group.
