Presentation

The MSc in Construction Management is aimed at:

  • Technical Architects, Construction Managers and Architects
  • Other graduates who can demonstrate that their professional activities involve content covered by the modules in the Master’s programme, or whose professional experience or research is related to construction management.

 Objectives of the MSc in Construction Management:

The programme complies with the European Space for Higher Education. It provides specialization in the knowledge areas of construction management and key scientific and professional competences.  You will acquire the knowledge and skills which meet the needs of the construction sector but if your interests lie in research, you will also be able to continue your studies after completing your MSc.

You will gain comprehensive knowledge of the construction process through the application of new technologies in construction management. The MSc in Construction Management is a highly specialized postgraduate title for professionals seeking advanced training in construction management. However, it does not qualify you for the practice of regulated professions in the construction sector.  Your original university degree would determine whether you can practice regulated professions such as Architect, Building Engineer or Civil Engineer.

The MSc in Construction Management is designed according to European Space for Higher Education guidelines and it comprises taught modules along with tutorials

The content and teaching method is continuously adapting to the needs of the construction sector and includes the following:

  •  Lectures/interactive lectures
  •  Tutorials with small groups
  •  On site company talks and presentations
  •  Participation in virtual forums
  •  Educational Trips
  •   Assessment of project work, presentations and examinations
  •  The academic staff, in addition to having professional work experience in the construction sector, is also actively involved in research. Many academic staff members have successfully patented their innovations related to the construction sector, and their work is published in high-impact international journals.
  •  Recently, many of our MSc students [s1] have obtained prizes from the Asociación Española de Dirección e Ingeniería de Proyectos [s2] for being the best MSc Construction Management Final Projects in Spain.
